Terms of Service

These terms apply to plumbing and gas fitting work carried out by Precision Pipes. They sit alongside your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which are not excluded or limited by anything here.
Quotes and pricing
- We do not charge a call-out fee and we do not charge to provide a quote.
- Quotes are fixed for the scope described. If work outside that scope becomes necessary, we will stop and obtain your approval before proceeding.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
- After-hours and emergency work is charged at a higher labour rate, which we will tell you before attending.
Payment
Payment is due on completion unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We accept cash, card, EFTPOS and bank transfer.
Access and site conditions
You need to provide safe and reasonable access to the work area. Where access is obstructed, or where site conditions differ materially from what was described, additional charges may apply — we will tell you before incurring them.
We take care to protect your property, but we are not responsible for pre-existing defects, or for damage that is an unavoidable consequence of properly performed work (for example, opening a wall to reach a concealed leak). We will always tell you in advance where this is likely.
Warranty
- Lifetime labour warranty. We warrant our workmanship for as long as you own the property. If work fails because of how we performed it, we will rectify it at no charge.
- “Lifetime” means the service life of the work. The warranty runs for the period the particular repair or installation could reasonably be expected to last, having regard to the components used and the conditions they operate in — not the lifetime of any person. A component that has reached the end of its reasonable service life and requires replacement is maintenance, not a warranty claim. Where the two are arguable we will inspect the work before forming a view.
- Materials, fixtures and appliances are covered by their manufacturer’s warranty. We will assist you with any claim.
- The warranty does not cover fair wear and tear, misuse, damage by others, work altered by another party, blockages caused by items that should not enter the drainage system, or events outside our control.
- The warranty applies to the original customer at the original property.
- This warranty is given in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and the statutory warranties in the Home Building Act 1989 (NSW). Nothing in this section limits or excludes those rights, and where they give you more than this warranty does, they prevail.
Cancellation
Please give us as much notice as you can if you need to cancel or reschedule. We do not charge for cancellations made with reasonable notice. Where materials have been specially ordered, those costs may be payable.
Compliance
All gas and hot water installations are certified and lodged with NSW Fair Trading, and you receive a copy of the Certificate of Compliance. We hold current NSW plumbing and gasfitting licences and full public liability insurance.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to re-supplying the services or paying the cost of having them re-supplied.
